Graduate in marine sciences. Diving instructor and pre-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences of Barcelona. In love with the sea for as long as I can remember, scuba diving opened my eyes to a magical world, a world I wanted to know more about. That's why I decided to study marine sciences. When I finished my degree I was aware that to know the sea well I needed to know the atmosphere and that's why I studied for a master's degree in meteorology. But that was not the end of my interest and I continued my training in the ocean-atmosphere interface, which has led me to become a pre-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC), where I study the volatile organic compounds generated by microorganisms in the ocean, which play a key role in the formation of nuclides.
Patrícia Poch Isern
Biology student and sea lover.
Since I was a child I have had the opportunity to dive and see marine life up close.
I would like to become a marine biologist to be able to conserve the oceans in the future.
Hi, I'm Ariadna!
I am currently a pre-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences in Barcelona where I am doing my thesis in Palaeoceanography. I am trying to combine the information provided by marine sediments and cold water corals to learn about past ocean conditions. Although my PhD leaves me little time for my hobbies, I try to run or dive whenever I can!
