If you love underwater life, you are an observer and you like photography, don't miss the opportunity to take part in Observadors del Mar projects. It's a way to learn more about the oceans and contribute to their conservation.

Observadors del Mar is a citizen science website for marine research. It consists of several marine research projects that collect data from different observers.

To participate you can register at this link: https://www.observadoresdelmar.es/Register and choose the project or projects that interest you. In each project they explain the problem and what needs to be observed so that once you notice it you can upload on the web. Thanks to the data that observers upload on the web, researchers have more information and their research is more solid.

For example, there is a project called Atenció Coralls that talks about how climate change and rising water temperatures are affecting different coral species. One of them is the famous red gorgonian (Paramuricea clavata) present in many of the dives on the Costa Brava. If you click on this link: https://www.observadoresdelmar.es/Projects/View/1 they shows you what you can see when the red gorgonian suffers from the increase in water temperature. You can also download sampling protocols, upload photos and write down your observations.
